LIMAVADY HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH CLUB EMBARK FOR BULGARIA!!

Limavady High School Youth Club are to visit 3 Orphanages in Bulgaria!!!

Limavady High School held a “toss your tie day” and a Coffee morning on Friday 13th January 2006 in an effort to raise funds for the Youths Club visit to Bulgaria. Mr Mornin who is the Youth & Community Tutor in the School highlighted that nineteen young people will be leaving on the 4th February along with four leaders. The aim of the visit is to broaden the young people’s horizons and awareness of different cultures. Whilst in Bulgaria the young people will be visiting three orphanages in which they will carry out specific duties, spend time with the orphans and the money raised will allow us to buy specific supplies or equipment that the orphanage may need. The young people will also have the opportunity to visit the capital of Bulgaria (Sofia), visit a Bulgarian church and go to a traditional Bulgarian evening. Mr Mornin continued “I would publicly like to thank all those local businesses, the Rotary Club of Limavady and the WELB Community Relations Youth Service Scheme (CRYSS) who have all supported us in this project, and they can be rest assured that their donations will benefit those young children in Bulgaria”. Upon returning the young members will be highlighting their experiences through various presentations evenings (dates to be finalised). This will be a great experience for the young people taking part and indeed the leaders. It is hoped that this project will grow over the years and that our Youth Club will make a significant difference to the young people in these orphanages, Mr Mornin explained.
