Scots Meet Irish Folk Night

After the success of last years “Scots meets Irish Folk” night, Limavady High School in conjunction with North West Tongues, Toes and Tapping are coming together again to produce another folk filled night on 23/04/08.

The evening will include a mixture of dancers, songs, tunes and craic and the proceeds from this cross community event are in aid of Limavady High Schools Defibrillator Fund. Due to the number of deaths of children and young people on the sports field in this country, a class from the school are doing a project with the aim to raise money to buy a defibrillator for the school.

A range of performances from pupils and staff from Limavady High School, Ceili Dancers, The Mulholland Family and much more.

The host of the evening, Mr George Murphy is no stranger to organising events, coordinating annually the “Roe Valley Folk Festival” will also be performing with some friends on the night.

With a wine and cheese reception and this packed programme, the night will not fail to please the ears, eyes and palates.

Tickets are just £5 and there will also be a raffle on the night in aid of the defibrillator fund.

Tickets are available on the night. For more information contact Meabh Mallon (Community Arts Development Officer) at Limavady High School on 028777 62526.
