“Annie Get Your Gun” was staged in LHS in 1992; it was produced by the then Vice Principal Mr Billy Carruthers, with his good friend and colleague, Reggie McCay, as Musical Director. Jayne McCracken was the undoubted star of the show in the wonderful role of quick-fire, sure-shot Annie Oakley. Her co-star was Shane O’Rourke, as handsome a Frank Butler as ever walked a stage! His excellent singing was a feature of the show. A highlight of the whole production was a superbly choreographed dance of the Indians, with eerie ultra-violet lighting and stunning make-up on some scantily-clad Roe Valley squaws! I seem to remember Jackie Little’s piercing gaze front-stage as she danced to the music of “I’m an Indian too! A Sioux! Boo Hoo!”
