On Wednesday 24th February the Girls N Golf programme teed off at the Radisson Roe Valley Golf Course. The project is a joint partnership between Limavady High School, Roe Valley Golf Club and Junior Golf Ireland, which aims to encourage more girls to try golf and hopefully take it up. Led by our own talented golfer Mrs McCartney (Golfer of the Year in Portstewart Golf Club, 2 years in a row, and winner of many, many other awards and prizes) 14 girls braved the cold and wintry conditions to take part in the first session of the programme. The programme is pitched in a fun way and it allows the girls to develop their chipping, putting and long shot skills as well as making them aware of proper golf etiquette. Who knows the next Michelle Wie could be one of our girls, Mrs Mac beware!!!!!!
