2. AIMS

Our mission is based on the belief that each individual is unique and valuable; we provide a secure, caring, happy and challenging learning environment in which all individuals are encouraged to respect others and develop to their maximum potential.  Pastoral systems, curriculum and teaching methods have been devised so as (1)  to best prepare students for external examinations, (2) to help them develop into mature, well-rounded young people within the caring community of the school, exercising concern and respect for the welfare of others and (3) to prepare them to take charge of their own lives, becoming independent learners.

3. SPECIALISM – THE ARTS (Performing & Visual)

The school continues to build on its success as a Specialist school, both in Arts subjects themselves and across the whole curriculum.  Standards of achievement at KS3, GCSE and ‘A’ level have been raised significantly during the school’s Specialism.  With our partner schools in the Roe Valley Learning Community we offer a full curriculum which meets Entitlement Framework requirements.
