LIMAVADY HIGH SCHOOL
ADMISSIONS CRITERIA FOR 2008
If there are more applicants than places then the following criteria will
be applied in the order set down below, firstly to applicants for whom
Limavady
High School is the nearest suitable school, then to other applicants. Priority
in the application
of these criteria will be given to children resident in Northern Ireland
at the time of their
proposed admission
.1 Pupils who are transferring from the school's traditional
contributory primary schools, ie

Roe Valley Integrated Primary School will be included from September 2008
2 Those pupils who have a family connection with the school:
(a) Pupils who have a brother/sister enrolled at the school on the date of
transfer;
(b) Pupils whose brother/sister attended the school;
(c) Pupils whose mother/father attended the school.
The three family connections above will be applied in the order set down.
3 Other pupils.
(a) Eldest child in family;
(b) First application received from a family with no previous connection
with the
school.
The two family connections above will be applied in the order set down.
4 Other pupils.
The Board of Governors has drawn up the criteria and delegates to the Headmaster
and Leadership Team the task of applying the criteria in the first instance,
subject to the final approval of the Admissions Committee of the Board of
Governors, consisting of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENT/GUARDIAN TO
PROVIDE ALL THE RELEVANT INFORMATION ON THE TRANSFER FORM
The same criteria are applied to those seeking admission to
year 8 after the beginning of the school year.
In the event of over-subscription in the last criterion which
can be applied then selection for all places remaining in this category will
be on the basis
of the initial letter of the surname, in the order set out below:-

The order was determined by a randomised selection of letters of the alphabet.
In the event of surnames beginning with the same letter the subsequent letters
of the surnames will be used in alphabetical order. In the event of 2
identical surnames the alphabetical order of the initials of the forenames
will be
used.
