Religions Education
Subject Overview

All pupils study Religious Education (R.E.) for five years. The emphasis of the course is to increase pupils awareness of their own religion, enhance their personal, social and cultural development while increasing their spiritual and moral development. Within R.E. they are also given opportunities to adapt an enquiring, critical and reflective approach to the study of religion while reflecting and developing their own values, opinions and attitudes.

All pupils in Years 8-10 follow the Programme of Study of the N.I. Curriculum. Pupils also have the option of completing a GCSE in R.E. during Years 11 and 12, following the CCEA Specifications.
